Dreaming about living tiny, but don’t have a tiny house?

We are looking to rent out our 1952 Bedford SB3 house bus, parked in our backyard. The bus was bought earlier this year and we have been renovating it to live in ourselves (including upgrading the bed and installing new LED lights).

However, our plans to go tiny have been put on hold as we have found out there will be a new addition to our family early next year.

The bus is self contained and suitable for a couple.  It has gas hot water, a bedroom with a queensized bed (innerspring mattress), small bathroom with sink, shower and composting toilet, and a combined kitchen, living, dining area which has a small but perfectly formed kitchen including an oven and 4 burner gas hob.

It is parked on an area of approximately 100sqm which includes a private section of lawn, some rather overgrown raised garden beds and a concreted area ideal for a small storage shed which would be for your exclusive use. The property is 1300sqm in total and there is parking available for one car.

There is power and water to the bus, the rent excludes utilities, which will depend on how many people live there.  We are open to discussing arrangements for help around the property in lieu of portion of the rent.

We are located in Papatoetoe, approximately a 15-minute walk to the train station, and is also handy to the southern and southwestern motorways. With two trains heading to and from the city every 10 minutes during peak times it is an ideal spot for anyone that works in town.
