Hi, we are Tilmann and Tanja, originally from Germany we have been in New Zealand for some time. We'd like to find a piece of land to call home. While we're looking to buy in the long term, we're considering to lease land in the meantime. Especially looking for a share in a rural environment, ideally in Opotiki / Whakatane area. We are professionals, in our 40s and currently renting at Ohiwa Harbour.

Hi there, I have a Bedford double lofted housetruck that needs to move from its current holiday spot early-mid next year. I only use it as a holiday bach for getting away once a month or so. Its fully self contained incl solar panels. Im looking for a piece of land somewhere quiet to get away from it all, somewhere within a 2 hour drive of Hamilton. I had to put in a location so I chose Bay of Plenty but wll consider anywhere. Parking her somewhere with a peaceful view would be ideal. Views of water would be the perfect scenario but will consider anything. Thanks muchly Ren

Couple with Tiny Home looking for Land

Hello, We are a couple in our twenties. We are a builder and a medical student. We were interested in living a lifestyle that was more minimalistic and has a lower carbon footprint. We also wanted to be mobile but have our own home, and at the same time escape the rental trap and save towards buying our own land. We therefore embarked on the adventure of building our own tiny home on wheels. We have been placed in Tauranga Hospital for next year and are looking for some land to put our tiny house on. We are hoping to move mid-December. The tiny house is 8m long (10m including the drawbar), 2.5m wide and 4.2m high. It is a timber frame house built on a trailer. It will be fully self-sufficient requiring no mains services. We are willing to pay a weekly sum and/or exchange in a service or land upkeep/maintenance. This piece of land is located in Whakamarama, Western BOP. It is a gorgeous 9 Hectare piece of hilly land with a stream at one end and a river at the other and lots of native bush. It is currently used to farm goats although things are winding down a lot as we aren't really in a position to farm the land properly at the moment. At this stage we are looking to see if anyone is interested in putting a removable tiny home there. Initially it would be a short lease but all going well we will be happy to consider a long term position. Not sure on the pricing yet but looking for help covering the rates and upkeep. You will need to be fully self contained as there is no access to sewerage or electricity (compostable toilet would be ideal), there might be water access. Long term my partner and I are looking at planting shelter belts and tree crops but still in the research stage. We are also happy for you to have access to space to garden/compost and perhaps a few chickens or small animals but most of it will remain as grazing for the goats. Anything is possible at this stage.

Water on site and also included an allowance for power in return for looking after property when owners away. Animal friendly cat or dog welcome.
