We have an empty section in the Eastern Suburbs of CHCH. It is currently leased to 2 young couples who live on site in their own tiny homes. Sadly one of the couples is leaving in February so we are helping the remaining couple to find like minded people to share the site. There is a lockable shed on site that has power connected to it. There is also water connected and we provide full laundry facilities (washing machine, dryer and tub). Pets are negotiable and the lease includes power. The section is 742m2 and there is plenty of room for 2 tiny homes to share and have their own space for gardening etc too. It is important for our leasees to find compatible people to live alongside so they will get to make the ultimate decision after meeting with interested parties.

Friends of ours have purchased the property next door to ours and have put in 3 tenants who are happy to host a full size tiny house on the lawn. You would have to be fully self contained with minimal/no interaction with the main house and tenants, i.e., each has their own space. There is no vehicle access to the lawn so a crane would be required to lift your tiny house over the fence and into place from the adjacent park - this is easy to do for around $300 from any crane company and it saves any hassles of towing it from where ever the house is now. On street parking only. $100 per week covers rent and unlimited water electricity and wifi internet. The site is surrounded by large trees and at least one of the 2 neighbors (us!) is good. Hi There, Transparency Consulting is getting into the designing and building of Tiny Houses On Wheels (THOW). Our intention is to make these with complete 'off-the-grid' functionality. As our first step, my wife and I and our three youngest children are planning to design and build two THOW for us to live in - probably with a removable link between them. Each THOW will have two sleeping lofts. This experience will help us develop better designs and building practices to be able to offer commercially to others. Before we commence we really need to know that we'll be able to park these on a suitable empty section in the CBHS zone. Our oldest son is presently enrolled at CBHS (he started high school in 2017) as our present rental is within the zone. For him to maintain his place and for his younger brother to be able to commence high school there in 2019 we need to remain living in the CBHS zone. The CBHS zone includes half of the CBD up to Colombo Street and we would consider living anywhere within the CBHS zone. Does anyone have a vacant empty section (min 300 square meters) in the CBHS zone which they would consider leasing to us on a two-year-with-right-of-renewal basis? All the best, Andrew (027)2719101
