Welcome to Te Whenua Humarie or The Peaceful Lands
We desire to create a community-driven, low impact and highly sustainable
village to live more simply, more connected and more intentionally.
Our Tiny House Village is set in a beautiful rural setting and sitting right on the beachfront.
The village is approximately 50 acres, and sits within 400 acres of retired farmlands.
There is approximately 20-30 acres of forestry block.
The village consists of 36 lots for low-impact, fully self-sustaining tiny houses with lots that
range in size from 1/4 acre to 1.5 acres.
We have leased approximately 1/3 of the village lots, and many of our "villagers" are homeschoolers, horticulturalists, builders, electricians, fishers, solar power specialists, teachers and nurses.
We have all come to the village with an intention to live in a self-sufficient, sustainable way, and be able to live in an intentional community.
There are common areas for residents to access including a community garden allotment,
space for community amenities, accessible walking trails and private beach access. Some grazing is available for livestock.
The property backs onto a Forest Park, which provides a great walking,
mountain biking or horse riding trails. At the end of this road is a great corner store, a
cafe/restaurant and ice-cream shop.

There is a popular mountain biking trail close to the village.
This site has a seclusion and privacy and many mature and established native plants and forestry.
The village has been set up for a fully self-sustaining lifestyle, and perfect for families looking for a simpler lifestyle.
Cellphone service is widely available however your tiny house would need to be self-sufficient in terms of water and power generation. There are large hills surrounding the valley that could be used to harvest solar power quite successfully.
