Welcome to Te Whenua Humarie or The Peaceful Lands Our community is a low impact, highly sustainable village with a vision to live more simply, connected and intentionally. We are self-sufficient and prepared. Here are some of the things people say about living here: "It is the most peaceful place I've ever lived. I feel different from living here" "We absolutely love the land, we spend so much time on the beach" "I'm growing my own food! Getting my first harvest was so cool!" "We live differently here - everything changed when we came here" "This is a dream I didn't think would ever come true" Our Tiny House Village is set in a beautiful rural setting and sitting right on the beachfront. The village is approximately 50 acres, and sits within 400 acres of retired farmlands. There is approximately 20-30 acres of forestry block. The village consists of individual and private lots for low-impact, fully self-sustaining tiny houses with lots that range in size from 1/4 acre to 1.5 acres. We have leased approximately 90% of the village lots, and many of our "villagers" are homeschoolers, horticulturalists, builders, electricians, fishers, solar power specialists, teachers and nurses. We have all come to the village with an intention to live in a self-sufficient, sustainable way, and be able to live in an intentional community. COMMON AREAS There are common areas for residents to access including a community garden allotment, space for community amenities, accessible walking trails and private beach access. Some grazing is available for livestock. The property backs onto a Forest Park, which provides a great walking, mountain biking or horse riding trails. At the end of this road is a great corner store, a cafe/restaurant and ice-cream shop. SERVICES AND AMENITIES Rubbish and Recycling: Kerbside rubbish available for tenant at cost.
