Hi there! I have 4 acres of land in Morison Bush which is the central point between Martinborough, Featherston and Greytown. This beautiful piece of land has our 3 bedroom house, a large paddock, bush area, an orchard, and a huge vege garden BUT is completely overgrown! My dream is to clear out the overgrown-ness and create an intentional community with like-minded people/families. I am struggling with setting up the vege garden - it has huge potential with sheds, covered areas for veges, and seedling tables, it already has an irrigation system. The orchard (which is basically half the property) has an abundance of fruit trees, but is overgrown! I have 32 free-range chickens, pet sheep, and horses. I am looking for like-minded people - liberal people - who love to live a low tox life style, vegetarian/vegans, who are loving, kind, sharing-types who want to work together to develop my property into a self-sufficent intentional community but also respect each other's privacy and boundaries when desired. Maybe you home-school or unschool your children and we can share in child-care and the kids can enjoy this beautiful land with nature play. We are looking for animal lovers like ourselves who also seek to develop beyond the egoic self to our true awareness beneath. We enjoy yoga, meditation, songs by the bon fire, sharing food, and practicing loving kindness to ourselves and others. We also desire a peaceful and natural life while seeking to be as self-sustainable as possible. Does this sound like you? The area of land I am hoping to lease is currently my horse paddock. My goals for the property are to tidy up and expand the orchard, develop the vege garden so we can all enjoy what we produce. Maybe we can share other resources, childcare, meals, skills, or whatever we have spare. I am a mum of 2 boys (5 and 7) we live with my partner and his 7 year old daughter in a 1920s house on the land. The weekly rent would be $100 plus $50 going into a shared fund for repairs and land development from which we all derive benefit plus an agreement of work to be completed on the land together each week. Long term, I'd like to get a new water pump and tanks, create a food forest and giant vege garden, expand egg production, out drainage through the paddocks where the tiny homes will be located. We would have an agreement in place detailing the terms that we would negotiate together with the intention of welcoming new people who's values aligned with ours eventually.
